Kazakhstan to Aid Families After Deadly Explosion

Authorities in Shchuchinsk have announced financial support for families affected by the deadly gas explosion that struck a local café in the Akmola Region, Kazakhstan.

Families of those killed will receive 2 million tenge, while those injured in the fire will be paid 1 million tenge each, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

“An Irreparable Loss”

Governor of the Burabay District Arai Sadykov said the situation is now under control and expressed condolences to the grieving families.

“I express my deep and sincere condolences to the families of the victims; this is an irreparable loss. All necessary assistance is being provided in full,” he stated.

Officials confirmed that comprehensive support has been organized since the first hours after the tragedy. In addition to financial compensation, local authorities will assist with funeral arrangements and provide accommodation for relatives arriving to attend the ceremonies.

Deadly Blast

Earlier reports confirmed that seven people were killed and 21 injured in the gas-air explosion followed by a fire. Among the victims was a 16-year-old girl.
