Kazakhstan, Türkiye Deepen Agro-Industrial Partnership

As part of his official visit to Türkiye, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has met with Süleyman Tiryakioğlu, CEO of Tiryaki Holding - a global leader in the production and export of grains, oilseeds, and animal feed.

Discussions centered on deepening long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation in the agro-industrial sector, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.

President Tokayev welcomed Tiryaki Holding’s decision to invest in Kazakhstan through the construction of a cutting-edge facility in Astana for the deep processing of wheat and peas.

Tiryakioğlu noted that the new project will play a key role in developing Kazakhstan’s processing industry, fostering the transfer of advanced technologies and enhancing the qualifications of local personnel.

The meeting also addressed strategic priorities such as improving logistics for agricultural exports from Kazakhstan, modernizing grain elevator infrastructure, and advancing the digitalization of warehousing systems.

This dialogue is part of a broader agenda for economic partnership during President Tokayev’s visit to Türkiye. Upon his arrival at Ankara’s Esenboğa Airport, he was received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan with full ceremonial honors, including a Guard of Honor. The two presidents held a brief conversation on the tarmac.

Earlier in the day, President Tokayev paid tribute at the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic. He also held meetings with leading Turkish business figures, including YDA Holding CEO Hüseyin Arslan and S Sistem Lojistik Board Chairman Hüseyin Barlin.

Later, President Tokayev and President Erdoğan are expected to hold official talks focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Türkiye. Their meeting will include the fifth session of the Kazakhstan-Türkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), underscoring the deepening alliance between the two nations.
