Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan Deepen Cooperation on Migration and Legal Affairs

Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan have agreed to deepen cooperation on consular protection and migration issues following bilateral consultations held in Ashgabat.

The meeting brought together representatives of relevant government agencies from both countries. The Kazakh delegation was headed by Aizamat Aubekov, Director of the Consular Service Department of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while Turkmenistan was represented by Dovletmurat Muratov, Head of the Consular Service Department, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

During the talks, the sides highlighted the strong level of cooperation in consular affairs and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties based on friendship, mutual trust, and international law.

Key topics included migration management, protection of citizens’ rights, cooperation within international legal conventions, expansion of the bilateral legal framework, and the introduction of modern digital technologies to enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of consular services.

The consultations concluded with the signing of a protocol reflecting the constructive outcomes of the discussions. Both countries also agreed to maintain regular exchanges of information on consular matters.
