Khorgos Border Center to Pause Operations in February

The Khorgos International Center for Border Cooperation will be temporarily closed from February 16 to March 1, 2026.

The closure is linked to Chinese New Year celebrations and the temporary suspension of operations on the Chinese side of the cross-border hub, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

During this period, scheduled maintenance works will be carried out on the Kazakh side to improve visitor comfort and infrastructure conditions.

The Center is expected to resume normal operations on March 2, 2026.

Kazakhstan plans to invest more than 230 billion tenge ($454.980 million) in the further development of the Khorgos hub, underscoring its strategic importance for trade and cooperation with China.
