Pope Leo XIV has warmly greeted a group of 30 pilgrims from Kazakhstan at St. Peter’s Square during the Angelus prayer.
The delegation, made up largely of believers from the Karaganda region, visited Italy between August 20 and 24 to take part in the 2025 Jubilee Year. The youngest participant was just nine months old, The Caspian Post informs via Vatican News.
As part of their pilgrimage, the Kazakh faithful passed through the four Holy Doors of Rome’s major papal basilicas and prayed at sacred sites linked to the Church’s history.
Earlier this month, on August 3, Pope Leo XIV led the Jubilee of Youth Mass at Tor Vergata in Rome, drawing more than one million young people from 146 countries.
Robert Francis Prevost, being elected the 267th pontiff, assumed the papal name Leo XIV.
