Kyrgyz Athletes Win Medals at Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh

The sixth Islamic Solidarity Games are in full swing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, bringing together athletes from across the Muslim world to compete in 19 kinds of sports, including three Paralympic disciplines.

In the early days of competition, Kyrgyz judokas Zhanar Zholdosheva (57 kg) and Adina Kochkonbaeva (63 kg) earned silver medals, marking a strong start for Kyrgyzstan’s delegation, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Begai Beishenaly kyzy secured a gold medal in Uzbek wrestling (kurash), while Islam Kamchybekov and Chyngyzkhan Sagynaliev took bronze. However, the kurash tournament is being held as a demonstration sport, meaning these medals do not count toward the official standings.

Kyrgyzstan is represented by 90 athletes at the Games, which run from November 7 to 21, showcasing the country’s growing participation and competitiveness on the international sports stage.
