The Uzbek national team delivered a stunning performance at the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games in Saudi Arabia, collecting 15 medals - including three gold, seven silver, and five bronze.
This remarkable achievement gave a major boost to the country’s overall medal count, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Uzbek athletes dominated across multiple disciplines:
Adkhamjon Ergashev - Gold in weightlifting (65 kg, clean and jerk)
Shahzodkhudza Sharipov - Gold in judo (90 kg)
Muzaffarbek Toʻraboev - Gold in judo (over 100 kg)
Uzbekistan also claimed seven silver medals, with standout performances from:
Adkhamjon Ergashev - Silver in weightlifting (total, 65 kg)
Nigora Abdullaeva - Three silvers in snatch, clean and jerk, and total (58 kg)
Khurshida Razzokberdieva - Silver in judo (70 kg)
Irisxon Kurbonboeva - Silver in judo (over 78 kg)
Diyorbek Ruzmetov - Silver in weightlifting (snatch, 71 kg)
Five more medals came in bronze:
Adkhamjon Ergashev - Bronze in snatch (65 kg)
Uzukjamol Yunusova - Bronze in boxing (54 kg)
Zilola Yusufova - Bronze in boxing (51 kg)
Marzhona Kuchimova - Bronze in judo (78 kg)
