Kyrgyz President Holds Talks with Russian State Duma Chairman

On May 19, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, who is in Kyrgyzstan on an official visit.

According to the presidential press service, the parties discussed key areas of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation, inter-parliamentary relations, as well as issues of bilateral trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation, The Caspian Post reports citing Kabar.

The head of state emphasized that Kyrgyzstan highly values ​​relations with Russia and aims to further deepen them in the spirit of friendship, alliance and mutual respect. He noted that the current year is of particular importance for bilateral relations, as it marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration on Eternal Friendship, Alliance and Partnership between the two countries.

President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that the Kyrgyz-Russian strategic partnership is developing steadily and dynamically. He also expressed readiness for the further development of full-scale cooperation in all areas and emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary interaction as an integral part of the bilateral dialogue.

In turn, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin expressed gratitude to President Sadyr Zhaparov for the warm welcome and conveyed the welcoming words of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He noted the high level of political dialogue between Kyrgyzstan and Russia and emphasized that relations between the countries are built on the principles of mutual respect and consideration of national interests.

Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized that consistent and systematic work is being carried out between the two countries to ensure a sustainable and systemic nature of the inter-parliamentary dialogue. In this regard, he noted the importance of regular dialogue between the legislative bodies of the two countries as an integral part of the strategic partnership, as well as readiness to further deepen constructive inter-parliamentary cooperation.
