Kyrgyzstan’s State Committee for National Security has dismantled a drug trafficking network after using drones to monitor the movement of illegal substances and identify suspects.
Security forces seized approximately 50 kilograms of narcotics during the operation, The Caspian Post reports via Nomad Kyrgyzstan.
Investigators say the drugs were being transported from Afghanistan through transit routes in Kyrgyzstan before being smuggled onward to neighboring countries.
The criminal group included both Kyrgyz citizens and foreign nationals. Two Kyrgyz suspects have been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
