Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Kyrgyzstan for an official visit, as Bishkek prepares to host a series of major regional events.
Sharif was welcomed at Manas International Airport by Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Administration of the President of Kyrgyzstan, according to 24kg.
As a symbolic welcome, the Pakistani prime minister was presented with a snow leopard soft toy, the official mascot of the 6th World Nomad Games.
During his visit, Sharif will participate in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), a high-level SCO Plus meeting and the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games.
The Pakistani prime minister is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks and oversee the signing of a number of agreements and other documents.
Kyrgyzstan is chairing the SCO in 2026, with Bishkek hosting the organization’s landmark summit marking the 25th anniversary of its establishment.
