Azerbaijan's Minister of Health, Teymur Musayev, held a meeting with Saja Farooq Abdullah, the UNICEF Representative in Azerbaijan, to discuss potential areas of collaboration and identify key priorities for their joint efforts, The Caspian Post reports citing Azertac.
Teymur Musayev emphasized the successful projects implemented in healthcare, education, and mother-and-child health protection through Azerbaijan's multifaceted relations with UNICEF. He detailed the Ministry's initiatives to enhance maternal and child healthcare services in the country.
The Minister highlighted COP29, held in Baku this November, particularly the panel discussions on strengthening climate-resilient health systems, co-organized by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization. He expressed optimism about advancing cooperation with UNICEF.
Saja Farooq Abdullah commended Azerbaijan's partnership with UNICEF since 1993 and reaffirmed the organization's commitment to supporting the Azerbaijani Government in creating opportunities for children to achieve their full potential.
She also praised the ongoing 2021-2025 Cooperation Program, describing it as pivotal in maintaining and deepening mutual relations.
