CIS Foreign Ministers to Address Military and Border Cooperation in Almaty

The CIS Council of Foreign Ministers will discuss cooperation between the defense ministries and border services of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) members in Almaty, according to the meeting agenda, which was mostly approved at a special session of the CIS Council of Permanent Representatives in Minsk on Tuesday, as reported by the CIS Executive Committee's press service.

"At the meeting, the permanent representatives upgraded and generally drafted the agenda of a meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States Council of Foreign Ministers due in Almaty on April 11. The document will be directed to CIS members in due process," the press service said, The Caspian Post reports citing Interfax.

"It is planned to discuss the provision of security and cooperation between the border services and the defense ministries at the meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers. A number of humanitarian cooperation issues are also on the agenda," it said.
