Russia-Kazakhstan Relations Strengthen Across All Sectors: Envoy

Relations between Russia and Kazakhstan are expanding in all areas, according to Russian Ambassador to Astana Alexey Borodavkin.

"Russia and Kazakhstan are the closest partners and integration allies. Our relations are strengthening across all sectors. We have a wide-ranging and positive agenda that encompasses every aspect of collaboration, starting from security, foreign policy, and economy, and extending to humanitarian and other fields," he noted, The Caspian Post reports, citing TASS.

Russia and Kazakhstan are advancing their partnership and "aim to accelerate this progress," the diplomat emphasized. "Proposals and initiatives are reviewed in a systematic manner at the level of the countries' ministries, agencies, and other governmental institutions. Any differences are addressed during consultations between the foreign ministries. Some matters require high-level coordination and may be discussed either in the intergovernmental commission or during meetings between prime ministers or presidents. The key thing is that we are focused on progress," Borodavkin stressed.

In 2024, several joint cultural and humanitarian initiatives were carried out in both Russia and Kazakhstan. "There are so many cultural events planned for this year that I cannot list them all. In the upcoming days, artists from the Russian Academic Youth Theatre will perform at the Theater for Children and Youth named after Natalia Sats in Almaty; on February 11-12, the Novosibirsk Globus Theatre troupe will perform twice in Astana. These performances are part of the Big Tour project organized by the Russian Ministry of Culture since 2014. Kazakhstan will soon host a major festival celebrating the culture of Russia’s Siberian Sakha (Yakutia) region," the ambassador said, expressing confidence that Russia and Kazakhstan’s cooperation in cultural and humanitarian fields will only grow.
