Uzbekistan welcomes the significant progress achieved in peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday, The Caspian Post reports.
“We believe that the signing of the historic Joint Declaration yesterday in Washington became possible thanks to the firm political will and determination of the Leaders of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, as well as the active peacekeeping actions of the President of the United States of America,” the statement reads.
“We highly appreciate the efforts of all parties aimed at overcoming the long-standing conflict. We are confident that the establishment of long-term peace and stability in the South Caucasus will pave the way for the launch of large transport and infrastructure projects for the benefit of all peoples of the vast region,” it notes.
