Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev stated during a special Cabinet meeting focused on President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Washington that the opening of the Zangazur Corridor will boost the annual capacity of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) by 15 million tons, The Caspian Post reports citing local media.

“The corridor serves as a strategic bridge connecting mainland Azerbaijan with Türkiye and Central Asia. At the same time, it will function as a new artery linking Southeast Asia and the Persian Gulf with Northern European countries,” Mustafayev noted.
