Erdogan: Zangazur Corridor Opening Will Revive Trade

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated in a statement to journalists on his return flight from Northern Cyprus that the opening of the Zangazur corridor will revitalize trade.

Erdogan noted that the Zangazur corridor will benefit not only Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Türkiye but also other countries in the region, The Caspian Post reports citing local media.

"We view this route as a decisive issue due to its geoeconomic dimensions. This corridor will connect our region with territories beyond and revitalize trade. Our main expectation is that this road becomes a symbol of consensus rather than a source of conflict," the Turkish President added.

Erdogan emphasized that this would give the region an opportunity to transform into a flourishing space where cooperation prevails:

"I believe that as countries of the region, we can resolve this issue through consensus. Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev attaches great importance to Zangazur. He wants to build the pipeline as soon as possible and use it for the benefit of both Azerbaijan and the region. I believe that we will solve this issue together."
