A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula on Saturday night, according to the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.

According to data from the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Survey of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the earthquake's epicenter was located 169 kilometers south of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at a depth of 61 kilometers, The Caspian Post reports, citing Interfax.

Residents in parts of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky felt tremors measuring up to magnitude 4.

Authorities said no tsunami warning was issued following the earthquake, and there were no disruptions to normal daily activities.
