The death toll from a Russian strike on warehouses and subsequent explosions in the village of Myla in Ukraine’s Bucha district has risen to 38, while four people remain missing.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said rescue and recovery operations are continuing around the clock in Myla. Most of the fires caused by the attack have been extinguished, while emergency teams continue clearing the area, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

Pyrotechnic units of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service are also working around the clock to locate and neutralize explosive hazards. Zelenskyy said the affected area remains significantly contaminated with dangerous objects.

“Unfortunately, it is known that 38 people were killed by the strike and the subsequent detonation,” Zelenskyy said.

Some 20 people were injured, including two children. The search for the four people still reported missing is ongoing.

Zelenskyy also said that Russian forces had launched nearly 2,000 attack drones, more than 1,600 guided bombs and 31 missiles of various types at Ukraine during the week, including North Korean ballistic missiles.

The Ukrainian president said that strikes have continued around the clock against frontline and border communities, including Nikopol, Kramatorsk and Kherson, as well as areas of Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Sumy regions.

“For every Russian strike and crime, we are seeking just responses. They will certainly come,” the president stressed.
