Residents in the buildings around Dubai Marina were evacuated on March 7 after debris from intercepted projectiles damaged a high-rise facade.
Residents and staff, including CNN personnel, were safely evacuated, and authorities confirmed no injuries, The Caspian Post reports via foreign media.
The area is near key tourist spots and institutions, including the American University of Dubai and Dubai Marina Mall. Alerts of incoming missiles were sent to residents in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as the sounds of air defence interceptions echoed through the city.
The incident followed rare public remarks by Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the United Arab Emirates, who called Iran “the enemy” and warned that the UAE’s defensive capabilities are strong and not to be underestimated.
