Erdoğan: Russia–Ukraine War Threatens Black Sea Trade

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said that the Russia-Ukraine war reached a level that poses a serious threat to trade in the Black Sea.

Speaking at an event reviewing Türkiye’s export performance for 2025, Erdoğan noted that the war, now in its fourth year, has resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths, injuries, and displaced people, The Caspian Post reports via Turkish media.

“Moreover, this war has already reached a point where it threatens trade in the Black Sea. Of course, we are taking the necessary measures to prevent this,” the Turkish leader said.

Erdoğan stressed that Türkiye supports efforts to end the conflict and wants the war to conclude with a just and lasting peace.
