Iran’s New Ambassador Begins Diplomatic Mission in Armenia

Iran’s newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, has presented a copy of his credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan.

The deputy minister extended his congratulations to the Ambassador on the commencement of his mission and expressed confidence that he would make a valuable contribution to the further strengthening and deepening of the relations between Armenia and Iran, The Caspian Post reports, citing Armenian media.

During the discussion following the ceremony, the sides emphasized the strategic nature of the dialogue between Armenia and Iran, the well-established atmosphere of mutual trust, as well as their shared readiness to continue and expand multi-sectoral cooperation, particularly within the framework of infrastructure projects.

The Deputy FM and the Iranian Ambassador also exchanged views on a number of issues on the regional and international agenda.
