Russia has no plans to mobilize 300,000 people by the end of 2026, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, dismissing reports of a potential new call-up.

“No. There are no such plans,” Peskov said, The Caspian Post reports, citing Russian media.

Earlier, Bloomberg, citing a European security official, reported that Russia could be preparing to call up 300,000 military personnel.

Russia announced a partial mobilization on September 21, 2022, by order of President Vladimir Putin.

The authorities announced the completion of the mobilization measures on October 31 of that year, although no separate presidential decree formally ending the mobilisation was issued.

In early September 2026, Putin also denied reports that Russia was preparing a new wave of mobilization.
