A US-registered NATO reconnaissance aircraft has been spotted near Russia's Kaliningrad Region for the third time since the beginning of this week, according to a source in air traffic control services.
"The Bombardier Artemis II aircraft is currently circling around the Kaliningrad Region while in the airspace of Poland and Lithuania," the source said, The Caspian Post reports, citing TASS.
He recalled that the aircraft had conducted similar flights last Wednesday and Monday, spending more than four hours near the Kaliningrad Region during the latter flight.
According to the source, the aircraft, which arrived from its permanent base at Constanta Airport in Romania, was flying at an altitude of approximately 10.5 kilometers without using air corridors designated for civilian aviation.
The reconnaissance aircraft regularly conducts circular flights near the Kaliningrad Region. It is also frequently spotted over the southern part of the Black Sea, where it flies back and forth from west to east for hours, as well as over central areas of the Baltic states.
