Putin Increases Russian Army’s Staffing Strength

President Vladimir Putin has increased the staffing strength of the Russian Armed Forces to 1,510,000 service members, according to a decree, The Caspian Post reports, citing TASS.

"The staffing strength of the Russian Armed Forces is hereby established at 2,399,130, including 1,510,000 servicemen," the document reads.

Under a decree signed on March 4, 2026, the number of servicemen stood at 1,502,640.
