Russia Bans Sale of Armenian Mineral Water Batch

The state labeling system "Honest Sign" has suspended the sale of a batch of "Jermuk" mineral water (Armenia) in offline and online stores.

Revas Yusupov, the deputy CEO of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (operator of the labeling system), stated that 338,000 bottles were in circulation, and these are now blocked until the completion of the inspection, The Caspian Post reports, citing RBC.

The reason for halting the circulation was a letter from Rospotrebnadzor, in which the agency pointed out the need for "urgent measures to prevent possible harm to the life and health of Russian citizens." The cause of the blockage is said to be "violations of mandatory requirements."

The banned products are from batches with production dates of February 17, 2026, and March 5, 2026. Yusupov noted that "until the inspection is completed, the products will not reach consumers."

The labeling system had previously suspended the sale of 2.5 million bottles of "Jermuk" following the poisoning of a resident of North Ossetia in 2024, when acetic acid was found instead of mineral water in the bottle.
