Russia Says It Downed Nearly 400 Ukrainian Drones Overnight

Russia's air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 389 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during what the Russian Defence Ministry described as a large-scale overnight attack on July 4.

In a statement, the ministry said the drones were shot down between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on July 3 and 7:00 a.m. on July 4, The Caspian Post reports.

According to the ministry, the aircraft-type drones were intercepted over several regions in western and central Russia, including Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Leningrad, Novgorod, Oryol, Pskov, Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Smolensk, Tver, Tula, and the Moscow region.

The ministry also said drones were destroyed over Krasnodar Krai, as well as above the waters of the Azov Sea and the Black Sea.

The Russian Defence Ministry did not report any casualties or damage resulting from the attacks.
