Russia has developed a new fixed-wing anti-drone interceptor called Krechet, which can reportedly reach speeds of up to 450 km/h and is designed to intercept enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Alexey Chadayev, CEO of the Ushkuynik Scientific-Research Centre, announced the development on September 10, according to iz.ru.

"The fastest fixed-wing anti-drone in Russia, the Krechet, powered by two electric motors and capable of reaching speeds of up to 450 kilometers per hour, has been unveiled for the first time," Chadayev said.

Chadayev said that the interceptor is launched from a catapult and uses a backward-swept wing design to improve maneuverability, particularly at lower speeds.

The anti-drone is designed to pursue UAVs and hit them precisely as they attempt to evade interception.

The Krechet model is being presented for the first time at the International Technology Congress, held at Patriot Park from September 8 to 10.
