The creation of a “Turkic Schengen” was discussed at the 3rd Meeting of Interior Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Kazakhstan's capital Astana, Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi said.

Çiftçi said that the work is underway to establish separate passport-control lanes at airports in Turkic states for citizens of OTS member countries, according to Report.

“Such a practice exists in the Eurozone: we see that citizens of the European Union pass through one passport-control point, while citizens of other countries pass through another. Our work to create a similar system between Turkic states continues,” he said.
