Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has formally invited Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to visit Ankara.
The Lebanese parliament speaker’s office has already begun preparations for the visit. The final date is expected to be set after logistical arrangements are completed, Al-Akhbar reports.
Ankara’s engagement with Berri is developing as a separate diplomatic channel, taking into account his prominent role in Lebanon’s domestic politics.
The two sides are also interested in strengthening cooperation amid Türkiye’s growing regional engagement, according to the report.
Berri plays an important role in Lebanon’s domestic political dialogue and maintains contacts with various political forces in the country.
