Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered preparations for a potential case at the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Israel could file the case directly but is more likely to use an intermediary. Neither Israel nor Türkiye recognizes the ICC’s jurisdiction, according to Kommersant.

The reported move came in response to a request by Türkiye’s Justice Ministry to Interpol for a “Red Notice” concerning Netanyahu.

An Interpol Red Notice is a request to law enforcement agencies in member countries to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending possible extradition.

Erdoğan has repeatedly criticized Israel and its military operations in Gaza.
