Uzbekistan and Israel have discussed potential cooperation in mining, hydrogeology and critical metals, according to the Uzbek Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology.

First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology Feruza Khamidova, ministry officials and representatives of UzTMC JSC met with Israel’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Gideon Lustig and Asaf Shirman, regional financial attaché for Asian countries at Israel’s Ministry of Finance, The Caspian Post reports, citing UzDaily.uz.

During the meeting, Uzbek officials briefed the Israeli delegation on reforms carried out in the country’s mining and geology sectors in recent years. They also presented the new version of the Subsoil Law, the investment environment and measures being introduced to attract investors.

The Uzbek side highlighted the offering of prospective areas to entrepreneurs through the E-Auksion platform using transparent mechanisms. Officials also presented the activities of UzTMC and projects related to hydrogeology, industrial digitalization and metallurgy.

The Israeli side expressed interest in cooperation in groundwater management and critical metals. Given Israel’s experience in hydrogeology, the sides proposed exploring the possibility of Israel submitting relevant proposals and technological solutions for the study and use of groundwater.

The Israeli delegation also highlighted its participation in the GEOMIN 2026 conference and praised the scale and practical significance of the event.
