A 31-year-old resident of the Israeli city of Tamra, Sultan Abu al-Haji, is expected to be indicted on charges related to national security, following his arrest in a joint operation by Israeli police and the Shin Bet security service.

Abu al-Haji was arrested on August 28, according to vesty.co.il.

Authorities allege that questioning and the investigation found he had repeatedly contacted members of the Hamas military wing in the Gaza Strip and provided them with covert assistance.

Investigators also allege that Abu al-Haji established contact with representatives of Iranian intelligence, although he reportedly had not carried out any assignments for them.

Following the completion of the investigation, the Haifa District Prosecutor’s Office is expected to file an indictment against him.
