Türkiye has prolonged the suspension of flights to several Middle Eastern countries due to escalating attacks in the region.
Flights to Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon have been halted through Friday, while all scheduled services to Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been canceled until Tuesday, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkish media.
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said on Monday that flights to Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh, Jeddah and Medina airports, as well as to Oman, would resume.
He also noted that one Turkish Airlines plane and one Pegasus Airlines aircraft were grounded in Tehran, but their crews were safely returned to Türkiye. According to the minister, other Turkish airline personnel stationed in Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE are not facing any risk.
