Reports have circulated claiming that Turkish Airlines canceled flights between Türkiye and Iran amid rising regional tensions.
However, Turkish Airlines has denied the allegations, stating that its services to Tehran are operating as scheduled and that no cancellations have been made, The Caspian Post reports, citing Anadolu.
Yahya Üstün, the airline’s senior vice president for communications, said on X that social media claims about flight suspensions are inaccurate. “Claims circulating on social media regarding flight cancellations related to Iran do not reflect the truth. We do not have any flight cancellations. Our flights operating during daytime conditions are continuing as planned,” he said.
The statement comes amid heightened regional tensions. In recent weeks, the United States has increased its military presence in the Persian Gulf and signaled the possibility of military action aimed at pressuring Iran to scale back its nuclear and missile programs and limit support for regional allies.
Tehran has accused Washington and Israel of creating pretexts for intervention and regime change. Iranian officials have warned that the country would respond to any military strike, even a limited one, while maintaining that sanctions relief must accompany any agreement imposing restrictions on its nuclear activities.
