Ukraine's Intelligence Reveals Scale of Russia’s Missile and Drone Arsenal

Russia has accumulated up to 700 ballistic missiles, several thousand cruise missiles and more than 6,000 attack drones, according to estimates by Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Directorate.

The intelligence assessment indicates that Russia continues to expand its missile and drone stockpiles while maintaining substantial production capacity across several weapons categories, according to strana.ua.

Russia currently has around 115 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and produces up to 65 of them each month. Moscow is also developing a new version of the missile with a reported range of up to 700 kilometres, compared with the current 500 kilometres.

Russia’s stockpile of Kalibr cruise missiles exceeds 450 units, with production estimated at around 29 missiles per month. Output of Kh-101 cruise missiles reportedly exceeds 80 units monthly.

The assessment also estimates that Russia has accumulated:

Up to 400 RM-48U missiles used by S-300 and S-400 air defence systems.

More than 600 upgraded Oniks missiles.

Over 120 Zircon hypersonic missiles.

Russia’s drone production has also increased significantly, according to the assessment. The country reportedly holds around 6,200 Geran attack drones of various modifications in reserve and manufactures up to 10,000 drones per month.

The estimated monthly output includes up to 4,000 newer Geran-4 and Geran-5 jet-powered drones, as well as up to 2,000 Geran-2 drones. Russia is also producing hundreds of lower-cost Gerbera decoy drones designed to imitate attack drones and complicate air defence efforts.

The state procurement order for Geran drones and decoy UAVs reportedly exceeded 100,000 units in 2026.
