Uzbekistan and Russia to Boost Flight Numbers and Expand Routes

In line with the Practical Action Plan for Cooperation in Transport for 2024-2026 and the Protocol of the 6th meeting of the Subcommittee on Transport Cooperation of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, negotiations between the aviation authorities of both countries were held in Moscow on July 21-22.

They were attended by delegations from the Ministries of Transport of Uzbekistan and Russia, as well as representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation. The parties discussed increasing the number of flights, expanding routes and granting additional rights to airlines, The Caspian Post reports citing Uzbek media.

Following the negotiations, the following agreements were reached:

In particular, the designated airlines of each country have been granted the right to operate the following number of flights per week.:

· on the Tashkent - Moscow route - 50 flights (100 flights in total);

· on the Samarkand - Moscow route - 23 flights (46 flights in total);

· on the route "Bukhara - Moscow", "Urgench - Moscow", "Fergana - Moscow", "Namangan - Moscow" - 14 flights each (112 flights in total);

· on the route "Tashkent - St. Petersburg", "Tashkent - Krasnoyarsk", "Tashkent - Sochi" - 14 flights each (42 flights in total);

· There are 10 flights on the Termez - Moscow route (20 flights in total);

There are 7 flights to all destinations in other cities, that is, for Russian air carriers from their 80 international airports to all international airports in Uzbekistan, a total of 560 flights, for Uzbek air carriers from all international airports in Uzbekistan to the 29 largest international airports in Russia, a total of 203 flights (in addition to the above);

Each company has also been given the right to choose up to 5 cities, with the lifting of restrictions on the number of airlines operating flights in the form of a "triangle" connecting 3 destinations.

As part of this agreement, the airlines of both countries were granted the right to operate more than 1,000 flights per week with efficient use of all destination cities, and currently there are more than 310 scheduled flights per week between the two countries.

The agreement reached, along with an increase in passenger and freight traffic, will contribute to the further development of bilateral trade and economic relations, creating all opportunities for the free movement of tourists between the two countries.
