Tajik–Afghan Border Shootings Claim Five Lives

Two shooting incidents on the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border over the past week have left five people dead and five others injured.

The information was revealed during a working meeting chaired by President Emomali Rahmon with top security and law enforcement officials, The Caspian Post reports via the Tajik president's press service.

According to the statement, both attacks came from the Afghan side of the border, prompting urgent discussions on border security.

President Rahmon instructed the relevant agencies to take decisive measures to stabilize the situation and prevent similar tragedies from recurring. He emphasized the need to strengthen preventive actions, improve rapid-response mechanisms, and avert any escalation in border regions.
