Tajik Border Situation Remains Stable After Armed Clash

The situation along the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border remains calm following a recent armed attack.

Earlier, the Tajik National Security Committee confirmed that two Tajik border guards were killed during a shootout after armed militants illegally crossed the border and attempted to attack a border post. The intruders refused to surrender and resisted, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

“As a result of the security operation, three terrorists were neutralized,” the committee said, adding that the situation is now stable.
