Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has arrived in Kyrgyzstan to participate in an informal Consultative Meeting of the heads of Central Asian states and the President of Azerbaijan.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in Cholpon-Ata, in Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region, the press service of the Kyrgyz president said.
Rahmon was welcomed at Issyk-Kul International Airport by Kyrgyz Cabinet Chairman and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The gathering is expected to bring together leaders from across Central Asia alongside Azerbaijan’s president to discuss regional cooperation and key issues affecting the region.
Earlier, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Kyrgyzstan for the meetings.
