Tajikistan is stepping up efforts to attract international investment and expand its textile industry as Dushanbe prepares to host the International Textile Forum Tajikistan 2026 on September 23.

The event is expected to bring together global textile industry leaders, investors, policymakers, and international organizations to explore new opportunities in Tajikistan’s rapidly developing textile sector, The Caspian Post reports via Khovar.

Organized by the Tajik Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, with the support of the Government of Tajikistan and in partnership with the International Federation of Textile Manufacturers and other international organizations, the forum will serve as a platform for business dialogue, investment discussions, and international cooperation.

A key focus of the forum will be attracting foreign investment into full-cycle textile production, ranging from cotton fiber processing to the manufacturing of finished textile products.

Tajikistan is positioning its textile industry as an attractive destination for investors by highlighting its access to renewable energy and favorable investment conditions. Around 98 percent of the country’s electricity is generated from renewable hydropower, while long-term tax incentives are designed to support industrial projects.

The forum will also provide an opportunity to showcase Tajikistan’s textile potential, share international expertise, and explore ways to increase the competitiveness of locally produced textile goods in global markets.

The International Textile Forum Tajikistan 2026 comes as the country seeks to accelerate sustainable industrial development and attract more foreign capital into manufacturing.

By promoting renewable energy, investment incentives, and integrated textile production, Tajikistan aims to establish itself as a competitive regional hub for the global textile industry.

The upcoming forum is expected to strengthen connections between Tajik producers and international investors while opening the door to new partnerships and industrial projects.
