Trade between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan rose 1.4 times in the first six months of 2026, reaching 770 million U.S. dollars and placing Kazakhstan among Tajikistan's three largest trading partners, according to official data.

Figures published by Tajikistan's Agency on Statistics showed that the country's total foreign trade turnover reached 6.82 billion U.S. dollars from January through June 2026, an increase of 44.2 percent compared with the same period in 2025, The Caspian Post reports, citing Qazinform.

During the first half of the year, Tajikistan maintained trade relations with 124 countries, including 10 member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

China remained Tajikistan's largest trading partner, with bilateral trade increasing 1.5 times year-on-year to 1.78 billion U.S. dollars during the first half of 2026.

Russia ranked second, with total bilateral trade amounting to approximately 1.32 billion U.S. dollars over the same period.

Kazakhstan was the country's third-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching 770 million U.S. dollars, representing a 1.4-fold increase compared with the first half of last year.

According to the Agency on Statistics, Tajikistan exported goods worth 57.2 million U.S. dollars to Kazakhstan while importing products valued at more than 712.9 million U.S. dollars from its northern neighbor.
