Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in Astana on Wednesday.
Tokayev thanked Rahmon for attending the opening ceremony of the Games of the Future 2026 as the guest of honor, The Caspian Post reports, citing Akorda.
During the meeting, the two presidents praised the current state of relations between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, noting that bilateral ties continue to develop steadily in the spirit of strategic partnership and allied cooperation.
They emphasized the importance of maintaining regular political dialogue and expanding contacts between the governments and business communities of both countries.
The discussions focused on strengthening trade and economic cooperation, enhancing collaboration in transport, logistics, and energy, and advancing the implementation of agreements reached during previous summit-level meetings.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments and reviewed the schedule of upcoming joint multilateral events.
