Turkmenistan Supercharges Digital Infrastructure Ahead of Major UN Conference

Turkmenistan has finalized major upgrades to its telecommunication infrastructure across the Avaza National Tourist Zone, ensuring seamless digital services for international delegates and media in preparation for the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3).

As part of the enhancements, the Avaza complex, nearby facilities, and Turkmenbashi International Airport are now fully equipped with 4G+ mobile internet, high-speed Wi-Fi, and advanced audio systems, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.

Dedicated server clusters have also been deployed to support the forum’s official website and secure government email systems.

To guarantee uninterrupted connectivity, international internet channels have been expanded and backed up, ensuring stable access for all participants. Visitors will be able to obtain SIM cards and eSIMs from national telecom operator Altyn Asyr at specially organized service points.

All hotels in the Avaza area now offer fiber-optic and internal cable connections, Wi-Fi, and access to ÄlemTV, which provides over 200 TV channels. Digital communication systems have also been installed along roads leading to the conference venue to ensure constant connection during travel.

The LLDC3 Forum will host delegations from 32 countries, alongside representatives from Small Island Developing States (SIDS), Least Developed Countries (LDCs), international bodies, and the private sector. The event is expected to welcome heads of state and government, senior UN officials, and high-level figures from non-government organizations (NGOs) and global institutions.
