A fire has erupted at the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent, with initial reports confirming no casualties.
The Uzbek Ministry of Emergency Situations received a report at 11:11 a.m. (GMT+5) of a blaze involving construction materials on the center’s premises, located on Zarkaynar Street, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.
Firefighting and rescue teams, along with additional support units, were promptly dispatched and are currently working to bring the fire under control.
The Islamic Civilization Center is a major cultural, scientific, and educational hub, featuring a museum, research institute, libraries, and other academic and educational facilities. Construction of the center has been ongoing for seven years and is now nearing completion.
