Samarkand Leads Uzbekistan in Number of Marriages

Samarkand has become Uzbekistan’s undisputed “city of love” in 2025, recording the highest number of marriages in the country.

From January to September 2025, Uzbekistan recorded 177,000 marriages, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The Samarkand region led the country with 21,200 registered marriages, followed by the Fergana region with 19,400 and the Kashkadarya region with 17,700.

In the city of Tashkent, 16,900 couples tied the knot, while the Andijan region recorded 14,900, the Surkhandarya region - 14,000, and the Namangan region - 13,800.

The fewest marriages were registered in the Syrdarya region - 4,500, as well as in the Navoi region (5,500) and the Jizzakh region (7,600).
