A court in Russia's Irkutsk city has sentenced a citizen of Uzbekistan to seven years and six months in a maximum-security prison for violently attacking his 17-year-old daughter and pushing her from a fourth-floor window.
According to investigators, the incident occurred in November 2024. The man reportedly spotted his daughter on the street without a head covering while she was supposed to be attending school. He stopped his car, struck her and forced her into the vehicle, according to podrobno.uz.
The abuse continued during the drive and later at the family home, where the man also beat his daughter with a metal hose. During the confrontation, he pushed the teenager through an open window of the fourth-floor apartment.
The girl suffered multiple injuries of varying severity and was hospitalized. While receiving treatment, she told law enforcement officers what had happened and testified against her father.
A criminal case was opened on charges including attempted murder and torture. The defendant denied the charges, but the court sided with the prosecution and sentenced him to seven years and six months in a maximum-security prison.
The case comes amid another reported incident of fatal violence against a teenage girl in Uzbekistan. Earlier, a 15-year-old girl in Kashkadarya region died after being beaten by her father over 400,000 Uzbek soums ($34) she had taken without permission.
