Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone call with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on October 5, congratulating him on his birthday and wishing him good health, well-being and success in his state service.
During the conversation, the two leaders discussed further development of friendship, good-neighborly relations, strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, according to UzDaily.
The presidents noted positive momentum in bilateral cooperation across a wide range of areas. Mutual trade continues to grow steadily, while the two countries are expanding cooperation in transport, energy, geology, agriculture, water management and other sectors.
They also discussed strengthening interregional ties and expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Mirziyoyev and Rahmon exchanged views on the regional agenda and discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events.
