Uzbek Leader Reviews 52 New Eco-Friendly Buses in Gulistan

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has reviewed a new fleet of 52 modern buses delivered to Gulistan, marking a major step in the city’s urban transport renewal program.

The buses meet Euro-5 environmental standards and run on compressed natural gas, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Each vehicle carries 65 passengers and features low floors, ramps, and designated spaces for people with disabilities. An electronic fare system, “ATTO”, has been installed to enhance passenger convenience.

The buses will operate on seven routes across 23 districts, improving accessibility and cutting travel intervals in half. The upgraded network is set to serve 29,000 residents, with transport services projected to reach 38 billion sum ($3.182 billion) annually and 120 new jobs created.

President Mirziyoyev instructed authorities to continue modernizing public transport nationwide, including plans to acquire 30 long-distance buses, which would add 150 more jobs and expand interregional transport opportunities.
