Citizens of Uzbekistan have secured a top spot among foreign brides marrying in Türkiye, ranking second only to Syrian women.

They surpassed brides from Morocco, Azerbaijan, and Russia, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, 28,646 foreign women married in Türkiye in 2025. Syrian women accounted for 13.8 per cent of these unions, while Uzbek women closely followed with 13.7 per cent, totaling approximately 3,925 brides. Morocco rounded out the top three at 9.6 per cent, with Azerbaijan (6.8 per cent) and Russia (5.7 per cent) completing the top five.

Among foreign grooms (5,347 in total), Syrians led at 20.9 per cent, followed by Germans at 18.8 per cent. Uzbek men did not make the top ten.

Marriages between Uzbek women and foreign partners have been steadily rising in recent years. From just 300 in the first half of 2021, the number increased to 1,900 in 2022, 1,800 in 2023, and reached 3,400 thousand by 2025, reflecting a growing trend of international unions.
