Uzbek Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov has met with representatives of Amazon Leo to advance cooperation on satellite internet initiatives.
The sides reviewed Amazon Leo’s proposals for deploying infrastructure under an existing memorandum of understanding, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The talks focused on widening public access to satellite internet, adopting cutting-edge technologies, and boosting nationwide connectivity. Participants also discussed the project’s economic benefits, its potential to support local businesses, and long-term sustainability measures.
The officials noted that the initiative is expected to significantly improve digital access across Uzbekistan, enhance internet quality, and accelerate the development of innovative telecom infrastructure.
